Trip Description top of page Join ACMG Guides Paddy Jerome and Dave Birnie for an unforgettable week of ski touring at a luxurious Back Country Lodge in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. This 2000 sq. ft. Lodge boasts bright dining and living areas, large modern kitchen with propane oven and stove. A heated drying room, 2 private wash-up rooms with running hot water, six guest rooms that can accommodate up to 14 people with a selection of single double and bunk beds. A combined solar and micro-hydro charging system supplies the lodge with environmentally friendly indoor light. Mistaya as well has an amazing wood fired sauna bath-house to clean up each day and enjoy being in the backcountry in style! This trip is not one to miss... Deep snow in the remote high country and the warm coziness of Mistaya Lodge combine to make a Mecca for backcountry skiers, from mid-December until early May. Located on the west slopes of the Canadian Rockies, the frequent up slope snowfalls and the dry powder of the Rockies provide us with excellent telemark and alpine ski touring. Our close proximity to extensive glaciated terrain as well as glades and open tree skiing, provides plenty of variety for novice to expert backcountry skiers using either telemark or randonee equipment. An unforgettably scenic 18 minute flight by helicopter from Golden, British Columbia will introduce you to this magically beautiful basin in the Rockies.
Trip Itinerary top of page Trip Itinerary is open-ended to remain as flexible as possible to cater to everyone's skiing abilities within the group. The terrain allows for possibilities at every ability level.
