Extreme Ice Routes top of page
These routes are rarely if ever guided because they are very committing. The main factor is exposure to significant hazard for an extended period of time. In certain cases, hazards may improve significantly. For example if seracs recede to the point that they no longer threaten the route. As well if seracs are not the main hazard and route conditions perfect, allowing for a speedy ascent. In these cases, it may then be viable to guide the route. Only the guide can make this decision. The client would need to posses advanced ability and be in peak condition. Please read the Extreme Route disclaimer. Please inquire.
