Shaun began his ice climbing career in ski boots and dull mountaineering axes on the West Coast nearly 2 decades ago.  When he moved to the Rockies a few years later his passion for ice grew exponentially.  It wasn’t long before he had climbed many of the local high caliber routes along with some first ascents like the direct finish through the serac band above Gimme Shelter and a mixed variant to the upper pitch on Nemesis.

Shaun’s good humored nature and contagious affinity for the vertical realm make him an inspirational guide.  He is also a very patient and effective instructor with years of experience teaching all ages and abilities.

These days Shaun resides in Nelson, BC and while not renowned for its waterfall ice climbing, the Kootenays have many great ice adventures with no lines ups that await you!
